Ventnor Bicycle Film Festival: Beryl Burton Book Talk

The Daily Telegraph’ Chief Sports reporter Wilson discusses his new book Beryl- In Search of Britain’s Greatest Athlete.

Chronicling the life of Beryl Burton who dominated British Cycling for over 25 years beating most of her male contemporaries and setting countless records on the way. She remained an amateur all her life, this proud Yorkshire woman was a one-off who raced right up until her death aged 58 in 1996.

Long ignored by sporting history, Burton is finally getting the recognition she deserves. Wilson discusses her life and what inspired him to tell her story and will be signing copies of the book on the day.
